Victims Identified as Bihar Residents

Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Ram Kumar Verma identified the affected passengers as Hriday Nand Chaube, aged 84, his wife Shaila Devi, aged 76, and Anil Chaube, aged 40. All three are residents of Kalyanpur in Bihar's Champaran district. They were traveling from Prayagraj to Ayodhya on the Saryu Express when they reportedly fell victim to a suspected poisoning gang operating on the train.

Emergency Response and Hospitalization

When the train reached Sultanpur, alert co-passengers immediately notified the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). In response, the train was briefly halted to facilitate a swift emergency intervention. The three victims were deboarded and rushed via ambulance to a government medical college in Sultanpur, where they were admitted for intensive treatment.

Officials confirmed that the victims were identified using tickets and Aadhaar cards found in their possession. Medical professionals have initiated comprehensive treatment protocols, with Hriday Nand Chaube placed on oxygen support due to his serious condition.
