Sequence of Events Leading to the Lynching

Police investigations reveal that a group of around twelve suspected dacoits forcibly entered the residence of Mujjamil Haque Choudhury. After reportedly looting valuable items from the household, the suspects attempted to flee the scene. However, alert locals raised an alarm and promptly gave chase.

Four of the fleeing suspects were apprehended in a nearby paddy field, where they were subjected to a severe beating by the enraged mob. "By the time our police team arrived at the location, the individuals were critically injured with multiple external wounds," Officer Dutta stated, highlighting the brutality of the attack.

Evidence Recovery and Ongoing Investigation

Law enforcement officials recovered knives and other sharp weapons from the possession of the suspects at the scene. In response to the incident, the police have registered a formal case and initiated a comprehensive manhunt to locate and apprehend the remaining accused individuals who managed to escape.

This tragic event underscores the growing tensions and the dangerous trend of mob justice in certain regions, raising serious concerns about law and order. The police are urging the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to instead rely on official channels for justice.
