Oppayee, a 65-year-old resident of KK Nagar and a retired university superintendent, was targeted while walking home on Sunday night.

The incident occurred as Oppayee was returning home after dark. According to police reports, two men approached her from behind on a motorcycle. One of them swiftly grabbed the gold chain from her neck, which weighed approximately two sovereigns, before the duo sped away from the scene, leaving the victim shaken but physically unharmed.

Following the robbery, Oppayee immediately lodged a formal complaint at the KK Nagar police station. On Monday morning, authorities registered a case against the unidentified accused under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to theft and robbery offenses.
As of Tuesday, the suspects remain at large, with no arrests made yet.
