Two Arrested for Assaulting Four Minors in Rajkot

Rajkot: Gondal taluka police have arrested two men for allegedly sexually assaulting four minors during Navratri two years ago. Manish Solanki and Hemang Gogiya were arrested based on a complaint lodged by the mother of one of the victims under Sections 115(2), 351(2) and 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 3(A)(D), 4 and 17 of the Pocso Act.

According to police, one of the victims, a 15-year-old boy, recently confided in his parents about the alleged incident. The complaint states that the accused took the children to a secluded place and forced them to engage in sexual acts. When they resisted, Solanki allegedly slapped them. Gogiya allegedly recorded the act on a mobile phone and threatened the victims to remain silent.

Investigating officer R J Jadeja said, “Both accused were arrested soon after the complaint was filed. Police are trying to trace the mobile phone allegedly used to record the video and are also investigating whether it was circulated.” The victims are currently aged between 14 and 16. Police said efforts are underway to collect corroborative evidence in the case.

Legal Action and Investigation

The arrests were made swiftly after the complaint was registered. The police are now focusing on recovering the mobile phone used to record the incident. They are also probing if the video was shared on any platform. The accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Community Response

Local residents have expressed shock and demanded strict punishment for the accused. Child rights activists have called for awareness programs to prevent such incidents. Police have assured that the investigation will be thorough and justice will be served.
