Ranchi: Two men were arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death under the Sadar police station limits of Ranchi on June 9. The accused were identified as Rinku Badaik, 24, and Kartik Kumar, 20. Residents of Kokar, they were arrested from different locations late on Friday.
On June 9, 29-year-old Ashish Lakra, also a Kokar resident, was critically injured after being stabbed. Ashish was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, where he died during treatment.
City SP Paras Rana on Saturday said, “The victim and his assailants were acquainted to each other. On Tuesday, they were consuming liquor together when an argument broke out between themselves. Soon, the argument turned into a fight, during which Ashish was attacked with a sharp weapon.”
Police said the criminal antecedents of Rinku and Kartik were being verified.
