Two Workers Killed, 11 Injured as Speeding Car Hits Them in Jabalpur

A speeding car ploughed into a group of labourers in Jabalpur on Sunday afternoon. The tragic incident left two workers dead and eleven others injured.

Details of the Fatal Accident

The accident occurred around 2 pm near Ekta Chowk, outside Sigma Colony. This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Barela police station in Madhya Pradesh.

Police officials confirmed the victims were taking a lunch break. They were working on the installation of road divider railings when the car hit them.

Driver Flees, Police Launch Search

Additional Superintendent of Police Pallavi Shukla provided details to the press. She stated the driver fled the spot immediately after the accident.

"Efforts are on to nab the absconding car driver," Shukla said. Police teams are actively searching for the individual responsible.

An initial investigation revealed a concerning detail. The car involved in this tragic incident was not carrying a registration plate. This complicates the search for the vehicle and its driver.

Condition of the Victims

All the injured persons, along with the deceased, have been admitted to Jabalpur Medical College for treatment. Officials confirmed they all hail from Mandla district.

The police update included a grave note about one victim's condition. "One of them is in a critical condition," Shukla added, highlighting the severity of the incident.

Local authorities are thoroughly investigating the case. They are examining all evidence to determine the exact circumstances that led to this loss of life and injury.
