A tragic accident occurred on the Biwar-Jalalpur road in Hamirpur district during the early hours of Wednesday, when two sand-laden dumpers collided, resulting in a fire that engulfed both vehicles. The helper of the dumper that rear-ended the other was burned to death on the spot, while the driver suffered serious injuries.
Details of the Incident
The collision took place around 2:30 am when a speeding dumper rammed into another dumper that had reportedly broken down and was stationary on the roadside. The impact triggered a massive blaze, consuming both vehicles within moments. According to police, the accident occurred on Bandhur Road under the Biwar police station area, nearly two kilometers from Biwar village.
Both dumpers were transporting sand from Bhedi village in the Jalalpur police station limits. One of the vehicles developed a mechanical fault mid-route and remained stranded on the road when the second dumper crashed into it from behind with tremendous force. Soon after the collision, flames erupted from both vehicles.

Upon receiving information, police teams from the Biwar police station rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations. Firefighters battled the blaze for a considerable time before bringing it under control. The injured driver was later shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Investigation Underway
Police stated that efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated. Authorities are examining the possibility of negligence or mechanical failure as contributing factors.
