Udaipur Police Detain Trio After IT Manager Alleges Horrific Assault
Police in Udaipur have detained three individuals, including a company CEO, following a harrowing complaint filed by a female manager of a private IT firm. The survivor has alleged that she was gang-raped by the CEO and the husband of a female executive head from her company. The incident, which sent shockwaves through the city, reportedly occurred in a moving vehicle in the Sukher area.
Chilling Details of the December Night Emerge
According to the police statement recorded on Wednesday, the traumatic events unfolded on the night of December 20. The occasion was a dual celebration for the CEO's birthday and the upcoming New Year. The party commenced at a hotel in Shobhagpura around 9 pm and continued into the early hours, lasting until approximately 1:30 am.
During the gathering, heavy drinking took place. The complainant stated that she consumed alcohol to the point of becoming nearly unconscious. In this vulnerable state, she alleges that the hosts—the company's CEO, a woman executive head, and the executive's husband—took advantage of her.
When other guests departed, the trio offered to drop the manager at her home. However, instead of providing safe passage, they allegedly coerced her into the executive's car. The vehicle did not proceed directly to her residence. The group made a stop where they purchased an item resembling a cigarette from a local shop. The survivor was then forced to consume this substance, which rendered her completely unconscious.
Dashcam Evidence and Delayed Police Complaint
The woman told police that she regained partial consciousness during the journey. It was then she realised the CEO was molesting her and the executive's husband was raping her. Despite her repeated pleas to be taken home, the accused did not drop her off until around 5 am.
In the aftermath of the ordeal, the survivor reviewed audio and video footage from the car's dashcam. This recording allegedly captured the entire crime. Fearing for her safety and grappling with the violation, she waited for three days before approaching the authorities. She finally filed a formal police complaint on December 23.
Acting swiftly on her complaint, the Udaipur police registered a case of gang-rape and initiated a thorough investigation. The probe is being led by Additional SP Madhuri Verma of the women's crime unit. Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal confirmed that all three accused, including one woman, were detained and questioned on Wednesday. A medical examination of the survivor has been conducted, and the report is currently awaited.
The case has highlighted severe concerns about women's safety in professional environments and the abuse of power. The police investigation is ongoing as they gather forensic evidence and statements to build a strong case against the accused.
