The young man was sleeping on the terrace when his father assaulted him with a sickle. The attack left Harish with serious injuries on his head, neck, shoulders, and hands. After attacking his son, Ganpat Lal then moved to another room in the house where his wife, Manju, was sleeping.

The 40-year-old woman became the next victim as her husband savagely attacked her with the same weapon. The violent assaults woke the couple's daughter, Sarika, who heard the screams of her mother and brother.
When Sarika went to investigate, she discovered a horrifying scene. Her mother and brother were both drenched in blood from their wounds. As she searched the house further, she made another terrible discovery - the lifeless body of her father in a different room.
