Coimbatore: An unidentified man was discovered dead inside the Coimbatore combined district court complex in the early hours of Monday, prompting a police investigation.
Discovery and Initial Response
Police reported that individuals entering the district court complex on Monday morning observed a man lying unconscious near the compound wall and immediately alerted authorities. Race Course police arrived at the scene and found the man deceased. Officers noted injuries on his forehead, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his death. The body was recovered and sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Preliminary Investigation Findings
Initial inquiries revealed that the deceased had been frequently seen on the roadside near the court complex over the past few weeks. Analysis of CCTV camera footage from the court premises showed the man jumping the compound wall of the district court at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday. An officer from Race Course police stated, “He might have sustained injuries on his head, which could have caused his death.” However, police have registered a case of suspicious death and are continuing their investigation.
