UP Police's Yaksh App Delivers Major Crime Control Breakthroughs in Vehicle Theft and Murder Cases
The Uttar Pradesh Police, under the leadership of Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna, has achieved significant milestones in crime control through the innovative use of the Yaksh App, a technology-driven smart policing tool designed to enhance surveillance, investigation, and suspect tracking capabilities across the state.
Rae Bareli Police Bust Vehicle Theft Gang Using Yaksh App
In a notable success story, the Rae Bareli police successfully dismantled a vehicle theft gang with the assistance of the Yaksh App, leading to the recovery of five stolen vehicles. The case originated on February 16, when an SUV was reported stolen from the Bachhrawan area. Following the registration of a formal case, the investigation team, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar, leveraged the Yaksh App to identify and analyze CCTV cameras located near the crime scene.
Advanced analysis through the app pointed to the involvement of suspects hailing from Mau district. Police officials identified a key accused individual named Pradeep, who was subsequently arrested along with his associates on March 16, marking a decisive victory in the fight against organized vehicle theft.
Firozabad Police Apprehend Murder Suspect After Nearly a Decade on the Run
In another groundbreaking achievement, the Firozabad police utilized the facial recognition feature of the Yaksh App to arrest a murder accused who had been absconding for nearly ten years. The suspect, identified as Sanoj, son of Pancham Singh, was wanted in connection with a 2016 murder case registered at the Linepar police station.
Acting under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit, law enforcement officers verified the suspect's identity through the Yaksh App on March 7 and successfully traced his precise location. The app's sophisticated photo-matching technology conclusively confirmed his true identity as Sanoj, leading to his arrest on March 15.
Leadership Commends Effective Deployment and Calls for Proactive Use
Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna has publicly commended both the Rae Bareli and Firozabad district police teams for their exemplary and effective utilization of the Yaksh App in these high-profile cases. He has issued directives to all districts across Uttar Pradesh to ensure the proactive and widespread deployment of the application in ongoing crime detection and prevention efforts.
The Yaksh App, conceptualized and developed under Krishna's supervision, represents a pivotal shift towards technology-driven policing in the state. Its capabilities in enhancing investigative workflows and improving suspect tracking are proving instrumental in tackling complex criminal activities, setting a new standard for law enforcement efficiency in the region.
