Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Om Prakash Semwal appeared before the court via video conferencing, complying with prior judicial directives. During his testimony, SSP Semwal informed the court that, based on the comprehensive investigation conducted thus far, law enforcement authorities have found no credible evidence indicating any imminent threat to the complainant's life or property.

The court expressed clear dissatisfaction with submissions made by the under secretary during the proceedings, highlighting procedural lapses. Furthermore, SSP Semwal disclosed that critical records pertaining to the mobile phone allegedly used to send the threats and ransom messages had not been provided to investigators, despite repeated official requests. This lack of cooperation has hampered the probe.
In response, the Uttarakhand High Court issued specific directives to ensure transparency and accountability. The court ordered the state government to submit a detailed progress report on the investigation by April 16. Additionally, the bench summoned the original records from the concerned under secretary to facilitate a thorough review of the case.
