Valsad Police Constable Injured in Raid, Five Family Members Arrested

A police constable from Valsad sustained injuries during a raid on Monday evening. The incident occurred in the Mograwadi area of Valsad town. Authorities have arrested five individuals in connection with the assault.

Details of the Police Operation

Head Constable Sahdev Solanki acted on a tip-off about illegal synthetic thread sales. He proceeded to Hanuman Street in Mograwadi on Monday. There, he intercepted two youths traveling on a two-wheeler.

Solanki conducted a search of their vehicle. He discovered three reels of banned synthetic thread during the inspection. The two young men, identified as Amrut Aulakh and Raj Tiwari, both residents of Valsad town, provided information during questioning.

They revealed they had come to return the synthetic threads to Yash Nikam. Nikam, a resident of the same area, had sold them the banned material earlier.

The Confrontation and Assault

Yash Nikam emerged from his house and engaged in a heated argument with Constable Solanki. The situation escalated quickly. Four other family members joined the confrontation from inside the residence.

Dimple Nikam, Yash's wife, participated in the altercation. Dipak Nikam, Yash's father, also became involved. Sandeep Nikam, Yash's elder brother, and his wife Reena joined the group.

Together, they allegedly assaulted the police constable. Solanki managed to escape from the scene despite his injuries. He received medical attention at Valsad Civil Hospital and was later discharged after treatment.

Police Response and Arrests

Constable Solanki filed a formal complaint at the Valsad town police station. The police registered a case against all five accused individuals. Authorities charged them under Section 121 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

This section deals with voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter a public servant from their duty. Police arrested Yash Nikam and his four family members on Tuesday.

The two youths who had come to return the synthetic thread fled the scene during the scuffle. They have not been apprehended at this time.

Official Statement on Enforcement

Valsad Town Police Inspector D D Parmar addressed the media about the incident. He emphasized the department's strict stance on banned synthetic thread sales this year.

"We have issued stern warnings to retailers and sellers," Inspector Parmar stated. "Our enforcement actions will continue against those violating the ban."

The case highlights ongoing efforts by Valsad police to curb illegal synthetic thread distribution. It also underscores the risks faced by law enforcement officers during routine operations.
