The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB), Patna, conducted two trap operations in Rohtas district on Friday, resulting in the arrest of a circle officer, his private assistant, and a clerk for allegedly accepting bribes.
First Trap Operation
In the first operation, Sasaram circle officer Akash Kumar Rogniyar and his private assistant Sonu Kumar were apprehended at a private residence in Sasaram's Beda locality while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. The complaint was filed by a revenue employee from Dinara, who accused the circle officer of demanding money for land mutation cases. After verification, a trap team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar-I caught the two accused red-handed, according to Vigilance DG J S Gangawar.
Second Trap Operation
In a separate operation, Satish Kumar, a clerk posted at the civil surgeon office in Sadar Hospital, Sasaram, was arrested while allegedly accepting Rs 20,000 to prevent the transfer of a health department employee.
