Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and found Kumar lying in a pool of blood with multiple bullet injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police have registered a case of murder under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer District) Sanjay Kumar Sain said, "Preliminary investigation suggests that personal enmity could be the motive behind the murder. We are questioning family members and associates to identify the suspects."

Ravi Kumar had been living in the area for several years and was known to have disputes with some individuals over business dealings. Police are examining his call records and CCTV footage from the vicinity to trace the assailants. No arrest has been made so far.
