A tragic incident has unfolded in west Delhi's Nihal Vihar, where a 25-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after claiming in a note that her morphed photographs had been leaked by a friend. The incident came to light when police received a call around 2:15 pm on the day of the occurrence. The woman was discovered hanging inside a friend's room and was immediately rushed to Balaji Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Postmortem Confirms Cause of Death
A postmortem examination conducted at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital later confirmed that the cause of death was ante-mortem hanging. Authorities are now verifying the allegations mentioned in the note left by the deceased. The note reportedly detailed how the friend had leaked her morphed images, leading to severe distress.
Legal Action Initiated
Based on the preliminary investigation and the contents of the note, police have registered a case of abetment to suicide under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused friend is being questioned, and further legal proceedings are underway. The case highlights the growing concern over cyber harassment and its devastating consequences.
Authorities urge anyone facing similar harassment to report it immediately and seek support. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many calling for stricter action against those who misuse technology to harm others.
