Five to six men allegedly gang-raped a 40-year-old woman during a robbery at her home in a village under Bori police station in Alirajpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday night. The assailants also inserted a wooden object into her private parts, causing serious injuries, police confirmed on Saturday.
Details of the Incident
According to Alirajpur Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Kumar Singh, the intruders entered the woman's house with the intent to commit robbery. Two of them raped her while others ransacked the premises. The robbers fled with silver ornaments and a mobile phone.
“Preliminary investigation suggests that a wooden object was inserted into her private parts,” Singh told PTI over the phone. He added that doctors have confirmed injuries to her private parts.
Medical Treatment and Investigation
The woman has been referred to a hospital in Indore for further treatment. Police have recovered some evidence from the crime scene but declined to share details as the investigation is ongoing. A search has been launched to trace the intruders.
“Prima facie, it appears that the individuals entered the house with the intention of committing robbery, though all angles are being investigated,” Singh said.
