A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman in Kanpur on Monday evening. The incident occurred near a busy intersection, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The victim, identified as Mahmoona, a resident of Jawahar Nagar Pashchimi, was crushed by a truck. The accident took place in front of the State Bank of India, close to the main intersection on Jahanabad Road. According to relatives, Mahmoona was returning on foot from Aasra Awas Colony, where she went daily for cleaning work. She lived with her husband, Raees, and had also been allotted a house in the Aasra Awas Colony located on the same road.
Police Response and Investigation
Shailendra Singh, the in-charge of the Kasba police post, promptly reached the accident spot. The police took the involved truck into their custody for further investigation. The post in-charge stated that legal action will be initiated following the completion of the victim's postmortem. The authorities are working to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
