Woman Robbed of Gold Chain in E-Rickshaw in Lucknow

A 50-year-old woman in Lucknow has alleged that she was rendered unconscious during an e-rickshaw ride and robbed of her gold chain valued at approximately Rs 3.5 lakh. The incident occurred on June 5 when Sunita Yadav, a resident of Rathkhana Dugawa, left the King George's Medical University (KGMU) around 3 pm and boarded an e-rickshaw heading to Charbagh.

Details of the Incident

According to the complaint lodged at Naka Hindola police station, Yadav stated that three other individuals—a woman, a man, and a youth—also boarded the e-rickshaw. They allegedly insisted that the driver proceed without picking up additional passengers and even offered to pay extra fare. During the journey, the woman asked the youth for a black polythene bag, which was reportedly brushed against Yadav's hand, leaving a white substance on her skin. Yadav claimed she lost consciousness shortly thereafter.

Discovery of the Theft

Yadav regained consciousness around 5 pm under a peepal tree in Arya Nagar, nearly two hours after the incident. She discovered that her gold chain, weighing approximately 25-30 grams, was missing. The chain was worth around Rs 3.5 lakh.
