Alwar: A 19-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of people in Singhada village under the Rudawal police station area of Bharatpur district on Thursday.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Kumar Jatav. The victim's uncle has lodged a report against 25 persons. Police handed over the body to family members after post-mortem.
Incident Details
According to police, Jatav went late at night to meet a girl who had come to her maternal home in the neighbourhood. The girl's maternal family members were sleeping in the verandah of the house. The girl's family members allegedly caught him and beat him with sticks. He was taken to Rudawal hospital in an injured condition and was declared dead during treatment Thursday, police said.
Complainant's Version
However, in the report lodged by the deceased's uncle Harbhan Singh, it is alleged that Jatav left home early at 4am to go for a run and was stopped near Ganesh's plot. The complaint alleges that few people who came in a vehicle, assaulted him in a pre-planned manner with sticks and clubs, leaving him unconscious on the ground. The report states the incident was witnessed in the morning by villagers Bhagwan and Kailaram and others, who informed the family by phone. The complainant said that when he reached the spot, he found his nephew lying unconscious and alleged the accused continued beating him with sticks in front of him, after which the Rudawal police station team arrived and took Saurabh to the govt hospital Rudawal, where he died during treatment.
Police Investigation
Bharatpur superintendent of police Rajesh Meena said police are investigating the case.
