A 17-year-old youth was stabbed to death and his younger brother injured by three motorcycle-borne assailants in Harike on Tuesday night. The police have registered a case against five individuals, including the three attackers.
Incident Details
According to Harike police station Sub-Inspector Balbir Singh, the deceased has been identified as Angadjot Singh, a resident of Harike. His brother, Gurlal Singh (15), sustained injuries but managed to escape with his life. The incident occurred when the two brothers had gone to a fast-food shop at Harike.
The three accused, who were on a motorcycle, had previously studied with the victims and were allegedly harbouring enmity. They attacked Angadjot with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds to his stomach and chest. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Accused Identified
The SHO stated that the three main accused have been identified as Gursher Singh (18), Saroop Singh (19), and Simranjit Singh (18), all residents of Marhana. Additionally, two more individuals have been found to be involved in the crime, and their names have been included in the FIR. Efforts are underway to arrest all the accused, the SHO added.
Legal Action
A case has been registered at Harike police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspects. The injured brother, Gurlal Singh, is reported to be out of danger and is providing information to the police.
