Major Administrative Reshuffle in Himachal Pradesh
The Himachal Pradesh government on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of 17 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 22 Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HAS) officers in a significant administrative reshuffle. The changes are effective immediately.
Key IAS Appointments
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Onkar Sharma, who currently heads Tribal Development, has been given the additional charge of ACS Transport. RD Nazeem, previously ACS Food, Civil Supplies, Transport, and Industries, has been reassigned as ACS Home, Vigilance, and Power.
Devesh Kumar, Principal Secretary Urban Development, will now oversee Finance, Planning, and Statistics, with the additional charge of Animal Husbandry. MS Sudha Devi, Principal Secretary Health and Personnel, has been given charge of Forest and Industries.
Priya Basu Ingty, Secretary Labour and Employment, will now handle Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs. Ashish Singmar, Secretary Digital Technology and Governance, has been given additional charge of Health and Family Welfare.
Other IAS Postings
Yunus, serving as Director Industries, has been posted as Secretary State Taxes and Excise. Sandeep Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kangra, is now Secretary Tourism and Civil Aviation. Amarjeet Singh, Secretary Town and Country Planning and Housing, has been given additional charge of Urban Development.
Vivek Bhatia, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been given additional charge of Director Industries. Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Director Energy, has been posted as Director Tourism and Civil Aviation. Dr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary Health, has been appointed Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise.
Vivek Chandel, Director-cum-Warden Fisheries, is now Commissioner Municipal Corporation Baddi. Madhu Chaudhary, Registrar Palampur Agriculture University, has been posted as Special Secretary Health and Family Welfare. Om Kant Thakur, Managing Director HP Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation, becomes Director-cum-Warden Fisheries.
Abhishek Kumar Garga, Additional Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur, has been posted as Managing Director HP State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. Gursimar Singh, Managing Director General Industries Corporation Ltd, takes over as Director Technical Education.
HAS Officers Transferred
Among the HAS officers, Sachin Kanwal, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been posted as Commissioner Shimla Municipal Corporation, replacing Bhupender Kumar, who moves to Managing Director General Industries Corporation Ltd. Gian Sagar Negi, Registrar HP University, becomes Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Shimla, replacing Jyoti Rana, who becomes Registrar HP University. Ekta Kapta, Additional Director Medical Education, is posted as ADM Sirmaur, replacing Liaq Ram Sharma, who becomes Managing Director HIMFED Shimla.
SDM-Level Changes
Sixteen other HAS officers, mostly at the level of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), have also been given new postings. The reshuffle aims to streamline administration and bring fresh perspectives to key departments.
