5,000 from Dakshina Kannada to Attend Yediyurappa Event

Mangaluru: BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Sathish Kumpala announced on Wednesday that 5,000 people from the district would participate in the 'Abhimanotsava' event for former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, scheduled to be held in Chitradurga on May 9.

Kumpala stated that meetings have already been held in various constituencies to ensure a large turnout at the festival. In Dakshina Kannada district, preparations are being overseen by Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur, Yuva Morcha district president Nandan Mallya, and Backwards Classes Morcha district president Mahesh Jogi.

Union home minister Amit Shah is expected to attend the event, which is anticipated to draw a large crowd, Kumpala told reporters.

MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur highlighted Yediyurappa's significant contributions to Dakshina Kannada district. He noted that even before the Smart City project, Yediyurappa provided a Rs 200 crore grant for the Mangaluru City Corporation's development plan. Puttur also mentioned that Yediyurappa extended several benefits to fishermen, waived farmers' loans, and made numerous visits to the district for party organisation. He urged people to participate in large numbers in the fan festival.
