Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh has alleged that the twin blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar are part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Mission Punjab' to destabilize the state ahead of assembly elections. Speaking to reporters, Singh said, 'These blasts are a deliberate attempt by the BJP to create fear and chaos in Punjab. They are executing their plan to influence the upcoming elections.'
CM Bhagwant Mann Blames BJP
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday held the BJP directly responsible for the two explosions. He stated, 'This is how the BJP is preparing for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. They want to disrupt peace and then blame the state government.' Mann added that his government will ensure strict action against those responsible.
Details of the Blasts
The first blast occurred in Amritsar near a busy market area, while the second was reported in Jalandhar close to a railway station. No casualties have been reported so far, but several people were injured. Security forces have cordoned off the areas and investigations are underway.
Political reactions have poured in, with opposition parties demanding a thorough probe. The BJP has denied any involvement and termed the allegations baseless. Meanwhile, the Punjab Police have launched a manhunt for suspects.
This incident comes months before the state is scheduled to go to polls, raising concerns about law and order. The AAP government has promised to maintain peace and has called for a high-level meeting to review security arrangements.
