Gupta Accuses BJP of Negligence and Corruption
AAP Haryana president Dr Sushil Gupta on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government in Haryana, alleging that crime and corruption have reached unprecedented levels in the state. He accused Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of neglecting Haryana's concerns.
Meeting in Panipat Reviews Party Structure
Addressing a meeting of the party’s active members at the district office in Sector 25, Panipat, Gupta claimed that Haryana is grappling with law and order issues. He said CM Saini was “roaming around Punjab instead of addressing the concerns of the state’s people”. The meeting was held to review the party’s organisational structure and discuss the process for electing members to AAP National Council.
Ahlawat Elected to National Council
During the proceedings, senior state vice-president and spokesperson advocate Surender Ahlawat was unanimously elected as a member of the council. Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Gupta said the party was intensifying its organisational expansion drive across Haryana. He added that workers were reaching villages and towns to strengthen the party and connect with the public.
Allegations of Criminal Safe Haven
Alleging widespread corruption, Gupta claimed Haryana had become a “safe haven for criminals”. He said whenever scams come to light, only lower-level officials are made scapegoats while the real culprits escape accountability. Asserting that AAP is BJP’s only credible alternative in Haryana, Gupta said both BJP and the Congress had failed the people and described them as “two sides of the same coin”. He claimed the public had become disillusioned with both parties.
Water Dispute and Farmers’ Rights
Raising the issue of water availability, Gupta alleged that Haryana’s farmers and residents were being deprived of their rightful share of water. He accused both the Centre and the state government of compromising the state’s interests. Expressing gratitude after his election to the national council, advocate Ahlawat thanked AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, state president Dr Gupta, and party workers for reposing faith in him. He said he would discharge the responsibility entrusted to him with dedication.
