PRN Thirumurugan of the All India N.R. Congress has won the Karaikal North Assembly constituency in Puducherry, securing 12,731 votes and defeating Indian National Congress candidate A.M. Ranjith by a margin of 2,653 votes. A. Vengadesh of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam finished third with 5,033 votes. Other candidates, including independents and Naam Tamilar Katchi, trailed significantly.

His 2021 victory had been narrowly secured by just 135 votes, making this election a significant improvement in margin.

The constituency also recorded a notable rise in voter participation. Turnout reached 85.86 percent, compared to 77.4 percent in 2021.
