In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four other individuals lost their lives when their aircraft crashed in Baramati town of Pune district. The plane, identified as a Learjet 45 with registration VT-SSK operated by VSR, met with the accident while attempting an emergency landing at approximately 8:45 AM, according to officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Opposition Demands Thorough Investigation into the Crash

Following the devastating crash, opposition leaders, led by the Congress party, have called for a comprehensive probe into the incident. Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress president, described Pawar's death as untimely and deeply shocking. He emphasized the need for an investigation, stating, "We will demand an investigation into this accident. It is a very sad incident. Ajit Pawar died a premature death. The passing away of a hard-working man has shocked us all."
