Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi Seeks Divine Blessings at Puri's Jagannath Temple
In a significant spiritual visit, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, accompanied by his wife, offered prayers at the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, on Saturday. Upon his arrival in Puri, General Dwivedi was warmly received by officials from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), along with district authorities including Collector Dibyajyoti Parida and Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh. The Army chief then entered the sacred temple premises to participate in the early morning 'Mangala Alati' ritual, a traditional offering of light to the deities.
During his darshan, General Dwivedi paid homage not only to Lord Jagannath but also visited the shrines of goddess Bimala and goddess Lakshmi within the temple complex. He expressed particular interest in the temple's traditional arrangements, visiting Koili Vaikuntha and the Rosaghara, the sacred kitchen renowned for preparing Mahaprasad.
