Bhupesh Baghel, the All India Congress Committee in-charge of political affairs for Punjab, held a meeting with veteran Congress leader and former minister Brahm Mohindra and his son Mohit Mohindra at their residence in Patiala on Thursday. The meeting, lasting over an hour, was also attended by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and other senior party leaders.
Focus on organisational strengthening and election strategy
The discussions centred on strengthening the party organisation and formulating a strategy for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. Participants reviewed the party’s organisational structure, discussed measures to energise the grassroots cadre, and deliberated on improving coordination within the party.
Brahm Mohindra stated that emphasis was placed on maintaining regular contact with workers, raising public issues more effectively, and drawing upon the experience of senior leaders to strengthen the Congress in the state.
Unity and grassroots outreach
The meeting stressed the need for greater unity and coordination within the organisation to ensure the party enters the 2027 Assembly elections with a united front. Mohit Mohindra said discussions were held on enhancing internal coordination and organisational cohesion while intensifying outreach at the district and constituency levels. He added that the Congress is working to further activate its grassroots network and strengthen direct engagement with the people.

This meeting was part of a series of interactions being held by the Punjab Congress leadership with senior party functionaries as the party steps up organisational activities ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. According to Brahm Mohindra, the party aims to leverage the experience of veteran leaders to bolster its position in the state.
