Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, revered as Mahatma Gandhi, epitomised the ultimate sacrifice of one's life for public service. His life's mission was 'service above self'. Reflecting on his teachings, I have discovered a pathway to leading a meaningful social existence, encapsulated in what I call the magic of the three 'I's: Integrity, Inclusion, and Impact.
The First 'I': Integrity
Integrity forms the bedrock of Gandhi's philosophy. He believed in aligning thoughts, words, and actions. For him, integrity was not merely honesty but a holistic consistency that inspired trust. In today's world, where shortcuts are tempting, Gandhi's example reminds us that true leadership stems from unwavering moral principles. By practicing integrity, we build a foundation of credibility and respect.
The Second 'I': Inclusion
Gandhi's vision of inclusion went beyond tolerance; it embraced active acceptance of diversity. He fought for the rights of the marginalized, including the untouchables, whom he called 'Harijans' or children of God. Inclusion means creating spaces where every voice is heard and valued. The Third 'I': Impact
Impact, for Gandhi, was measured not by personal gain but by the betterment of society. His nonviolent resistance movement transformed India and inspired global civil rights movements. Impact requires action rooted in purpose. Each of us can create ripples of change through small, consistent efforts.
