NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday selected Suvendu Adhikari to be the next chief minister of West Bengal, following the party's resounding victory in the state assembly elections, where it secured 207 seats. "Bhoi is out and, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has said, bharosa is in," Adhikari said after being chosen for the top post. "The people of Bengal have given us a historic mandate. We will fulfil all the promises made in the BJP's poll manifesto in Bengal," he added. Adhikari is widely regarded as one of the key architects behind the BJP's dramatic rise in West Bengal.
