Varanasi: On his maiden visit to the city as BJP national president, Nitin Nabin on Tuesday offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple along with chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the party’s state chief Pankaj Chaudhary. The leaders performed rituals at the temple in Varanasi and sought blessings for the nation’s progress and welfare of its citizens.
Divine Opportunity to Pray
In a post on X, Nabin said he had the “divine opportunity” to offer prayers at the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Kashi Vishwanath and prayed for the country’s continuous development, public welfare and prosperity of every citizen. Yogi, in a separate post, said he felt fortunate to have offered prayers in the holy city of Kashi along with the BJP leadership and prayed for the wellbeing of all devotees and residents of the state.
Puja with Senior Leaders
Chaudhary also shared that he performed puja at the temple along with senior leaders, including Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and prayed for universal welfare and national progress. Earlier in the day, Nabin was welcomed by the CM at the airport amid chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. From the airport, Nabin went to the Kashi Vishwanath temple and offered prayers. He received a grand welcome with flower showers along the route from Babatpur Airport via Shivpur, Atulanand, Police Line Tiraaha, Chaukaaghat, Lahuraabir and Maidagin to Vishwanath Temple.
Participation in Party Events
From the temple, Nabin reached the BLW ground to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the party’s Jan Aakrosh Mahila Sammelan. He also attended Ganga Aarti at Namo Ghat in the evening. The visit underscores the BJP's focus on religious and cultural engagements in the region.
