In the recent elections, Vijay's TVK party emerged as a formidable force in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala's Chadayamangalam, INC's M.M. Naseer emerged as the winner, defeating CPI's J. Chinchurani by 7,486 votes. M.M. Naseer received 68,281 votes, while J. Chinchurani secured 60,795 votes. The current MLA is J. Chinchu Rani from CPI, elected in 2021 with 67,252 votes (45.69 per cent), defeating INC's M.M. Naseer (53,574 votes, 36.40 per cent) by 13,678 votes. BJP's Vishnu Pattathanam got 22,238 votes (15.11 per cent) amid a 71.75 per cent turnout.
