Former Punjab chief minister and current Jalandhar Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi has raised serious questions regarding the recent explosion outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Chandigarh. During a media interaction on Thursday, Channi strongly asserted that the BJP and the central government cannot escape responsibility for maintaining law and order in the Union Territory, which falls directly under their administrative control.

Speaking to journalists during the inauguration of his new residence in Jalandhar, Channi pointed out the apparent contradiction in BJP's security narrative. "The BJP frequently claims it can ensure peace and stability in Punjab, yet there is no peace in Chandigarh itself, where bombs are going off," Channi stated emphatically. He questioned how such a security breach could occur in a territory that is directly administered by the central government through its appointed administrator.
Channi intensified his criticism by suggesting deeper implications: "If they possess the capability to prevent such incidents, then why are they not stopping them in Chandigarh? Are the agencies themselves involved in orchestrating these events?" The Congress leader clarified that this was his personal allegation while questioning whether the BJP was either failing in its duties or deliberately unwilling to restore peace in the region.
