Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani emphasized that clear goals and discipline are essential for success during an interaction with students at Government Senior Secondary School, Auhar, in Bilaspur district on Thursday.
Practical Learning and Integrity
Dharmani stated that school education is meaningful only when applied in practical life. He urged students to incorporate what they learn into daily activities and encouraged teachers to explain the real-world relevance of subjects beyond the curriculum. This approach, he said, enhances understanding, confidence, and decision-making abilities.
When asked about his greatest achievement, Dharmani replied: “The biggest achievement of my life is that I have never sold my faith.” He shared his experiences of continuous hard work, honesty, and determination as driving forces in his journey.
Infrastructure and Environmental Initiatives
Students requested funds for playground and toilet improvements. Dharmani announced Rs. 55 lakh for construction and upgrades. He also urged students to plant and care for at least one sapling at home or in surrounding areas to protect the environment. School Principal Simro Bhatnagar highlighted the students’ achievements.
Holistic Development and Career Guidance
Addressing students at Government Senior Secondary School in Hartwar, Ghumarwin, on Wednesday, Dharmani said the government focuses on quality, technology, and job-oriented education. He stressed holistic development beyond academic marks, including character building, leadership, discipline, and social responsibility.
The minister noted that the current era offers vast opportunities in education, technology, innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship. “To move forward with sustained efforts in the right direction, clear goals, a positive mindset and firm determination are required,” he added. He advised constructive use of mobile phones and social media as tools for knowledge and self-improvement.
Co-curricular Activities and Education Reforms
Dharmani encouraged participation in NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, sports, cultural events, science exhibitions, and debates, which foster leadership, self-confidence, team spirit, and social responsibility. He highlighted that under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the government is implementing historic reforms to make education more qualitative, modern, technology-driven, and employment-oriented.
The minister announced adoption of the CBSE pattern in government schools, incorporation of NCERT curriculum, and mandatory English-medium instruction from Class 1 to prepare students for national and global competition.
