Constitution threatened by fascist forces: Info Commissioner

Mysuru: State information commissioner K Harishkumar on Thursday stated that the Constitution, which guarantees equal rights and opportunities to all citizens, is currently under threat from "fascist forces." He made these remarks while inaugurating the Dr BR Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanthi celebrations organized by the BCM Hostel Students' Alumni Association at Vignan Bhavan in Manasagangothri.

Harishkumar highlights contributions of Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram

Harishkumar recalled the significant contributions of Dr B R Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram, noting that both leaders worked tirelessly towards building a discrimination-free society and empowering vulnerable sections. He emphasized their role in drafting the Constitution and advocating for social justice.

Thinker Vikas R Mourya also remembered their efforts in eliminating the caste system and establishing equality in the country. He urged citizens to follow their ideals to create a just society.

Call for unity beyond caste and religion

Senior KAS officer P Shivaraju urged citizens to work together beyond caste and religious identities to build an equal, progressive, and discrimination-free society. He stressed the need for collective action to uphold constitutional values.
