Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Honors Apna Ghar Ashram at Silver Jubilee Event
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the 12th Annual Celebration and Silver Jubilee ceremony of the Apna Ghar Ashram, situated in Budhpur, on Sunday. The event marked 26 years of the organization's dedicated service to society's most vulnerable members.
Praise for Selfless Service and Inspiring Initiatives
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), CM Gupta highly commended the ashram for its unwavering commitment to providing selfless assistance to the destitute, homeless, and infirm over the past quarter-century. She described the organization as a beacon of hope and an inspiring model for societal welfare.
CM Gupta emphasized, "Institutions like Apna Ghar Ashram serve as vital sanctuaries for individuals who have become estranged from their families and communities due to various circumstances. This organization not only offers shelter but also ensures a life of dignity by providing essential amenities such as medical care, food, clothing, and personal attention."
Expansive Network and Government Collaboration
The Chief Minister highlighted that over the past 26 years, Apna Ghar Ashram has established an extensive network of service initiatives. Currently, more than 70 centers operate across India under its guidance, with services expanding internationally. She noted, "This institution embodies the core values of humanity and compassion. Social service cannot be achieved through government efforts alone; it requires a collaborative partnership between society and the government."
Extending her best wishes to the dedicated volunteers, CM Gupta affirmed the government's commitment to expanding such services on a broader scale and ensuring facilities are available wherever needed.
Government Support and Infrastructure Development
Deeply impressed by the organization's work, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured the ashram of the Delhi Government's full cooperation in addressing administrative challenges related to development and operations. This includes ensuring the availability of medical professionals and meeting other essential logistical requirements.
She stated, "Various needs of the Ashram, such as the provision of medical facilities, administrative assistance, and resolution of infrastructure-related issues, will be addressed on a priority basis." Additionally, she announced financial assistance for constructing the road leading to the ashram.
Commitment to Antyodaya and Social Welfare
Guided by the philosophy of Antyodaya, which focuses on reaching the last person in society as advocated by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the Delhi Government remains dedicated to extending dignity, security, and assistance to every individual. CM Gupta remarked that the government strives to ensure aid reaches all needy persons in the capital.
Furthermore, she mentioned that steps will be taken to institutionally streamline procedures such as organ or eye donation posthumously, if required.
Action Against Rumors and Hoarding
In a separate address, CM Gupta warned against spreading rumors about LPG supplies. She emphasized, "Both the Central and State governments are monitoring the situation responsibly, and citizens need not panic. Some individuals are attempting to encourage hoarding by creating unnecessary fear, which is against national interest."
The Chief Minister explicitly stated that the government is vigilantly watching such activities and will take strict action against any individuals or organizations found involved in misconduct.
Dignitaries in Attendance
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Yogender Chandoliya, MP from North-West Delhi; Raj Karan Khatri, MLA from Narela; senior BJP leader Shyam Jaju, along with numerous other dignitaries and volunteers associated with the organization.
