Bhubaneswar: Nayapalli police on Tuesday arrested a domestic help of a businesswoman for allegedly stealing gold ornaments worth lakhs. The accused has been identified as Manoj Kumar Sahoo (32).
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena, the employer was admitted to hospital due to illness. Taking advantage of her absence, Sahoo stole the jewellery on May 2. The police also arrested his associate Basanta Kumar Sahoo for purchasing the stolen gold.
Authorities are investigating the case further to recover the stolen items and determine if any other individuals were involved. The arrests were made based on a complaint filed by the victim after she returned from the hospital and discovered the theft.
