PRAYAGRAJ: At least nine people sustained injuries after a gas cylinder leak caused a blast at a residence in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district on Monday morning, according to police officials.

Incident Details

The explosion occurred in Bilkhani village, located under the Kalyanpur police station jurisdiction. A two-room house caught fire following the blast, leading to panic in the area.

Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik stated that six occupants inside the house suffered burn injuries due to the explosion. Additionally, three neighbors who rushed to assist the victims were also injured.

Response and Medical Aid

Upon receiving information about the incident, police and ambulance teams promptly arrived at the scene. The injured individuals were transported to Malwa Medical College for immediate treatment. Officials later reported that eight of the injured were referred to Kanpur for advanced medical care after receiving preliminary treatment.

Police have indicated that the blast appears to have been caused by a gas leak from the cylinder, based on preliminary findings. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution while handling gas cylinders to prevent such accidents.
