Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi, in a social media post, stated that after offering temporary relief to the public during the election period, the government is now imposing the burden of price rise in a phased manner.
Election relief over, price rise phase begins
“Election relief is over, the real phase of price rise has begun,” Gogoi wrote in his post. He recalled that in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi had warned that prices of petrol, diesel, and other fuel products would increase after April 29.
Impact on small businesses and common people
Gogoi pointed out that the sudden hike in the price of commercial LPG cylinders has had a direct impact on small traders, shopkeepers, dhaba operators, and restaurant and hotel businesses. He said this is not just price rise, but a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “policy of surrender,” due to which small businesses and common people are suffering.
The Congress leader’s remarks come amid rising concerns over inflation and its effect on the daily lives of citizens. He urged the government to reconsider its policies and provide relief to the affected sectors.
