The romantic journey of two distinguished Indian Police Service officers, Krishna Kumar (K.K.) Bishnoi and Anshika Verma, is reaching its pinnacle with their marriage scheduled for March 29 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This union bridges the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, capturing significant attention across both regions and establishing them as one of Uttar Pradesh's notable IPS couples.
Multi-Day Wedding Festivities Across Rajasthan
The elaborate wedding celebrations will commence on March 27 in Dhorimanna, Barmer district, the hometown of K.K. Bishnoi. Here, traditional rituals will unfold, starting with the customary "Ghee Pilane" ceremony that marks the beginning of the joyous festivities.
On March 28, the Barat Sabha will be held in Dhorimanna, followed by the wedding procession traveling to Jodhpur on March 29 for the main marriage ceremony. A grand reception is planned for March 30 at Lahariya Resort in Jodhpur, where guests will celebrate the newlyweds.
Background of the IPS Couple
K.K. Bishnoi hails from Dhorimanna in Barmer district, Rajasthan, while Anshika Verma originates from the Civil Lines area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The couple first crossed paths in 2023 during their postings in Gorakhpur. At that time, Bishnoi was serving as SP City, and Verma was an under-training IPS officer. Their professional acquaintance gradually blossomed into a deep personal relationship.
K.K. Bishnoi achieved All India Rank 174 in his second attempt at the 2018 UPSC Civil Services Examination. His academic credentials include graduation from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and a master’s degree from the Paris School of International Affairs in France. Demonstrating remarkable dedication to public service, he left a high-paying position at the United Nations Trade Centre, earning approximately Rs 30 lakh annually, to return to India and serve his country.
Currently, Bishnoi serves as SP in Sambhal district, where he has earned recognition for his administrative efficiency and commitment to duty.
Family Involvement and Additional Ceremonies
The couple informed their families once their relationship matured, and with full family consent, the marriage was finalized. Anshika Verma confirmed the wedding arrangements, noting that while no formal ceremony has occurred yet, some family rituals will be held in Sambhal towards the month's end, preceding the main wedding in Rajasthan.
An engagement ceremony is scheduled for March 25 in Sambhal, with attendance limited to close family members. Bishnoi’s brother, Bhajanlal Bishnoi, a Rajasthan Administrative Service officer posted in Jodhpur, provided details on additional ceremonies: the Sangeet and Haldi ceremonies will take place in Dhorimanna, Barmer, while the wedding and reception will be hosted in Jodhpur.
Most invited guests are expected at the reception, while residents of Dhorimanna and nearby areas are welcome to participate in the local village celebrations, reflecting the couple's connection to their roots.
