Remembering the Kargil War
The Kargil War, fought between India and Pakistan in 1999, lasted for over two months. India successfully recaptured strategic positions in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir. Every year on 26 July, Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the armed forces.
In Dharwad, the ceremony included speeches by dignitaries and officials who highlighted the courage of the soldiers. The NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides stood in solemn remembrance, reflecting on the importance of national unity and defense.
