On June 15, the Community Policing Wing of Kolkata Police observed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day by organizing an awareness programme for nearly 300 members of Pronam at the Bodyguard Lines Auditorium. The event aimed to sensitize senior citizens about elder abuse while promoting their safety and well-being.

The programme was attended by Additional Commissioner of Police (III) Santosh Pandey, IPS, along with senior officers of Kolkata Police and eminent speakers. Their presence underscored the importance of addressing elder abuse and ensuring the protection of senior citizens.
Cyber Safety and Fraud Prevention Session
Officers from the Bank Fraud and Cyber Police Station of the Detective Department conducted a dedicated session on cyber safety and fraud prevention. This session equipped seniors with knowledge to identify and avoid online scams, a growing concern for the elderly.
The initiative highlighted Kolkata Police's continued commitment to upholding the dignity, security, and welfare of senior citizens in the city.
