Chennai: Cutting across party lines, wishes poured in for Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay from the country's top political brass after he was sworn in. In a post on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Congratulations to Thiru C Joseph Vijay on taking oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The Central Government will keep working with the Tamil Nadu Government to improve the lives of people." Later in the evening, Modi spoke to Vijay over the phone and extended his wishes.
Congress and Other Leaders React
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who attended the swearing-in ceremony, said it signaled the rise of a new generation and voice. "Tamil Nadu has chosen. My good wishes to Thiru Vijay — may he fulfill the hopes of the people of Tamil Nadu," he posted on X.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated Vijay, stating, "As Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, I strongly believe that you will deliver welfare for the poor, justice for all, and take your state to greater heights in development."

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah noted that Vijay scripted a remarkable democratic journey — from the world of cinema to the service of the people — and expressed his eagerness to work closely with him to strengthen the partnership between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lauded the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for its electoral victory. "This verdict reflects the aspirations, trust, and democratic will of the people of Tamil Nadu. I am confident that under his leadership, Tamil Nadu will continue its journey of progress, welfare, and inclusive development," she said. Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also extended his wishes to Vijay.
