A tragic incident occurred in Nagpur on Monday afternoon when a 66-year-old man lost his life after falling from a tree while trying to pluck fruits. The deceased has been identified as Moreshwar Yelne, a driver employed by Atul Doshi, a resident of Ramdaspeth.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the incident took place at a residence located behind Canal Road in New Ramdaspeth. Yelne had climbed a stone apple tree, also known as bel, to harvest the fruits. While reaching for the fruits, he lost his balance and fell from a considerable height, sustaining severe injuries. Family members who witnessed the fall immediately rushed him to a private hospital, where medical staff declared him dead upon arrival.
Police Investigation
Following the incident, Sitabuldi police registered a case of accidental death. The case was initiated based on a complaint lodged by the deceased's son, Ashish Yelne, who is 38 years old. Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. No foul play is suspected at this stage.
This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the risks associated with climbing trees, especially for elderly individuals. Local residents have expressed shock and grief over the incident, which has left the family devastated.
