Tragic Accident in Noida: Mother-Son Duo Killed, Husband Critical
A devastating road accident in Noida's Sector 68 claimed the lives of a mother and her young son, while the husband sustained critical injuries. The incident occurred when a truck allegedly rammed into their bicycle, throwing the family onto the road.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the family originally hails from Bihar. Mubarak Ansari, the husband, works at a private company in Noida and resides alone in a rented house in Garhi Chaukhandi village. His wife, Sahiema Khatun, and their 2-year-old son, Noman Ansari, had recently arrived in the city to visit him.
On the day of the accident, the trio was returning home after visiting a nearby market. Sahiema was seated on the bicycle, holding their son, while Ansari was standing nearby. A truck allegedly hit them from behind, causing severe injuries. The impact threw the mother and child onto the road, leaving them critically injured, and also struck Ansari. The truck driver, identified as Monu, fled the scene immediately.
Response and Legal Action
Locals rushed the victims to a nearby hospital in Sector 71, where doctors declared Sahiema and Noman dead on arrival. Mubarak Ansari remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi.
Based on a complaint from Ansari's brother, Mustaq, an FIR was filed under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 125(b) (act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS at the Phase 3 police station. The driver was arrested, and the vehicle was seized. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Second Accident in Noida
In a separate incident, a man riding a bicycle died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shani Temple in Sector 22 on the morning of April 16. Ramji Shukla, a resident of Vasundhara Enclave in Delhi, was employed at a private firm in Sector 58 and commuted daily by bicycle.
Police said he was returning home from work when an unidentified vehicle struck him from behind. Shukla was initially taken to a district hospital before being referred to a Delhi-based hospital for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Based on his son Abhishek Shukla's complaint, a case was filed against the unknown driver. Further investigation is underway.
