The transport department of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has terminated the services of Aapli Bus driver Sagar Wasnik for alleged negligent driving that led to an accident on Saturday evening. According to officials, the incident occurred around 5 pm near the Balbharati office on Maharajbag Road, when Wasnik, driving a PM e-bus, allegedly rammed into a car. The collision caused significant damage to the front portions of both vehicles, though no casualties were reported.
Details of the Incident
Preliminary information suggested that the bus was being driven at high speed and that the driver fled the spot after the accident. Based on this information, CCTV footage from the accident site was examined. Following the review, the transport department concluded that the driver was at fault and initiated disciplinary action, terminating his services.
Response from Authorities
The NMC transport department stated that such negligent behavior will not be tolerated, emphasizing the importance of passenger safety and responsible driving. The termination serves as a stern warning to other drivers regarding the consequences of reckless driving.
