Owaisi Slams Media Trial in TCS Case, Questions Burqa

AIMIM chief Asauddin Owaisi has strongly criticized what he termed the 'media trial' of Nida Khan, a party worker implicated in the TCS case. Speaking to reporters, Owaisi questioned whether possessing a burqa now constitutes a crime, referring to the seizure of a burqa from Khan's residence during the investigation.

Owaisi's Defense of Nida Khan

Owaisi argued that the relentless media coverage and public scrutiny of Khan amount to a trial by media, undermining the presumption of innocence. He emphasized that Khan is a law-abiding citizen and that the allegations against her are baseless. 'If owning a burqa is a crime, then half the country is guilty,' he said, highlighting what he sees as the absurdity of the accusations.

Political Implications

The AIMIM chief also addressed the broader political implications of the case. He noted that the allegations against his party at least prove that the AIMIM is not the 'B team' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a charge often leveled by political rivals. 'We are being targeted because we stand for the rights of minorities,' Owaisi asserted, adding that the party will continue to fight for justice.
