PM Modi Assures Strict Action on Tamil Nadu Corruption in Virtual BJP Meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a virtual interaction with state BJP 'karyakartas' on Monday, delivered a strong message against corruption in Tamil Nadu, stating that it has become deeply embedded in the system. He pointed out that several ministers in the state are facing corruption cases, reflecting a widespread issue that has angered families across Tamil Nadu.
"I assure you that once our government is formed, strict action will be taken. Responding to BJP worker Ranjith Kumar from Tiruvannamalai regarding Vande Bharat trains, Modi noted that Tamil Nadu did not receive major projects in the past despite the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) being part of the Central government. In contrast, he stated that the NDA government has implemented significant projects across railways, highways, ports, and airports. Completed works such as the Pamban bridge redevelopment and the establishment of 11 new medical colleges were cited as examples of this progress.
Kalairaj from Virudhunagar raised concerns about central schemes not reaching beneficiaries at the state level, suggesting that alignment between the Centre and state would ensure complete delivery of benefits. Modi responded by explaining that the Centre has transferred funds directly to beneficiaries under schemes like 'PM-Kisan' and crop insurance. He acknowledged that gaps in surveys and implementation have prevented some eligible families from receiving housing benefits, indicating areas for improvement.
