PM Modi Set to Inaugurate NDA's Grand Kerala Election Campaign Convention
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a massive election campaign convention organized by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Kochi on March 11, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders announced on Monday. The event is expected to draw an impressive crowd of approximately 50,000 people, marking a significant political mobilization ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Kerala.
Detailed Schedule and Venue for the Prime Minister's Visit
The convention will be held at the Jawaharlal International Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi. According to BJP state general secretary S Suresh, who addressed reporters, Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive at the international airport in Kochi by 11:30 AM on Wednesday. From there, he will travel by helicopter to Marine Drive to participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of the Akhila Kerala Dheevara Sabha.
Following this engagement, the Prime Minister will attend official Union government programs on a stage inside the Kaloor stadium, where he will launch various government initiatives. Suresh elaborated that Modi is expected to arrive at the NDA convention between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM.
Roadshow and Rousing Reception Planned
A highlight of the event will be a grand roadshow, which is anticipated to involve over 10,000 party workers. This procession will begin from the entrance of the stadium and extend up to the venue of the government function. Suresh emphasized that a rousing reception will be accorded to the Prime Minister as he proceeds to attend the official function, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Campaign Slogan and Political Significance
The NDA has adopted the slogan "Let change begin, Viksit Keralam with Modi" for its campaign in the upcoming Assembly polls. Suresh claimed that PM Modi's event in Kochi would be a game-changer in state politics, signaling a new phase of electoral strategy. He noted that all prominent NDA leaders, including BJP state chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Twenty20 chairman Sabu M Jacob, and BDJS supremo Thushar Vellappally, among others, will be present at the venue.

Senior BJP leader A N Radhakrishnan, who also attended the press conference, highlighted the historical significance of the convention. He stated that this would be the first NDA convention after the alliance was expanded, marking a new step in its history. Radhakrishnan added that around 12 prominent parties are now part of the NDA, showcasing a broad coalition effort.

In response to questions, Suresh criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that his statements reflect acknowledgements of failures.
